Financial Aid

FAFSA/Financial Aid
Opens October 1st

FAFSA ( Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and MS Financial Aid opens October 1st. https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa .

MS Financial Aid can be easily connected to your FAFSA. There is a link to click at the end of the FAFSA form or https://www.msfinancialaid.org/

Why is FAFSA and MS Student Aid so important?

  • Students and parents must complete the FAFSA in order to receive any financial aid for college or trade school. Some financial aid awards have deadlines so completing FAFSA as early as possible is important.

  •   Students and parents must complete the FAFSA  in order to receive most scholarships through colleges and trade schools (even if you think you will not qualify for any financial aid). Most colleges will not release scholarship money if FAFSA has not been completed and many scholarships have deadlines that must be met, so completing FAFSA as early as possible is important.

  • You can not receive the Lafayette Tuition Assistance if you do not complete FAFSA.

  • FAFSA and MS Financial Aid must be completed in order to apply for the HELP Grant, MTAG and  MESG. All three are defined in your Financial Aid folder below.

ALL students are encouraged to complete their FAFSA and MS Financial Aid. Students who may not plan on attending a college or trade school sometimes find themselves at the end of the school year in a situation where perhaps the military or job opportunity didn’t work out and they decide they would like to attend college. If they haven’t completed the FAFSA or MS Financial Aid they could miss out on different financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

All needed information on how to complete FAFSA and MS Financial Aid is located in the google classroom. FAFSA only takes about 45 minutes to complete. If you need help you can contact me or get2college @ 662-349-2789 or [email protected]. We will have a FAFSA night on TBA where you can come to the school and receive any help needed. Recruiters from Get2College, Ole Miss and Northwest will be here to help you through the process. I will be sending out a sign up form sometime in September for this night. Seating will be limited.

You do not have to complete the FAFSA before you can apply to colleges or scholarships. You can apply to colleges and scholarships then complete FAFSA and MS Financial Aid when it opens.
